Additional Services for Student Parents and their Children
Visiting Ruhr University Bochum with your child? Many large and small offers make everyday life at university easier for student parents and enrich the university experience for children.
- Student parents have the option to buy a kids’ menu (“Kinderteller”) for their children at a price of 1.50 euros at the Mensa of Ruhr University Bochum (RUB). Highchairs for children are also available.
- Holiday childcare: ProKids, RUB's holiday childcare service, organizes an exciting holiday program for the children of students and staff, running for three weeks during the summer holidays and one week each during the Easter and autumn holidays.
- The university gym Unifit is located across from the Bochum train station and offers childcare services in its well-equipped Kidsarea twice a week: the children can play while the parents are working out.
- Spielraum is an association that awards grants to student parents at RUB.
