RUB Alumni as mentors

The RUB mentoring programs support RUB members with career guidance and entry into business and science.

As a mentor, you pass on knowledge to students and in return receive fresh ideas and impulses from young academics. You can also discover future professionals for your own company.

You reflect on your own career path and exercise your social and communication skills. Through contact with other mentors, you will gain new cooperation opportunities for your personal network.

  • Time required: A mentor and mentee tandem lasts one year. During this time, there are at least three face-to-face meetings as well as regular contact via telephone or e-mail.
  • A mentor to mentee-tandem can be started at any time of the year
  • Travelling to RUB is not required

Mentoring programs at RUB

"Mentoring offers the opportunity to learn from each other. It is not a one-way road but an open, honest and dialog based on trust. I am a mentor to promote this dialog and to help graduates build bridges between universities and industry."

Dr. Olaf Breuer, alumnus of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy
