Consultancy and guidance – where do I go? Most consultancy services and advice centers at Ruhr University Bochum are located at the Student Service Center (SSC).
The Student Service Center houses the most important student service and advice offices: the Registrar’s Office and admission office, the Student Advice Center with social services & funding department and Career Service, the Psychological Student Advisory Service, the International Office, the university sports department, and Junge Uni – the coordination office for projects for school-children.
It is not necessary to register for open consultation hours at the Student Advice Center, the Registrar’s Office, and the International Office.
First, please ask for a queue token at the SCC Reception on level 0. You will be called up via monitors in the waiting areas on each floor and in the lounge area of the cafeteria right next to the Reception.
This allows you to pass the time with snacks and drinks if necessary.
By Public Transportation:
From the U35 underground station named "Ruhr-Universität", first cross the pedestrian bridge to the right in the direction of the university. The SSC is located on the left-hand side behind the bridge, recognizable from afar by the "SSC" sign on the front. You enter the SSC directly to the left of the university administration building, which is also connected to the SSC by a glazed corridor.
By Car:
Coming from Universitätsstraße, take the exit „Uni Mitte”. Park your car in the visitors’ car park: Keep left when entering the parking garage and turn left after the information point. From the parking lot, take the stairs to the pedestrian bridge over Universitätsstraße and follow the description above.
The International Office is located on the first floor of the SSC building.
