The DoSV is used at RUB to admit students to admission-restricted Bachelor's degree programs (1 subject) and degrees with state examinations. In the first step, applicants register at hochschulstart.de, before applying to the university.

After your registration is completed, you will receive your login data from Hochschulstart, consisting of an applicant ID (BID) and an applicant authentication number (BAN). In order to join the admission procedure, you will have to enter these data in your online application to Ruhr University Bochum.

When applying online to Ruhr University Bochum, you can apply for several degree programs in addition to DoSV degree programs, and you can list up to 12 degree programs in one single online application. Please note that only the last application you submit will be valid.

The online application only lists the degree programs that will begin in the following semester.
Degree programs with no admission requirements (without NC) do not appear in the online application, but are only listed when you enrol online or in person. In these degree programs, you are guaranteed a place at university.

After completed application
Once you have completed your online application, you will receive a confirmation email with a check sheet and application number.
Please use the check sheet to double-check the information you have provided. Unfortunately, it is not possible to correct your details at a later date. If you have entered incorrect information, please reapply. Please note that only the last application you submit will be valid.
You should regularly check the status of your application in the admissions information portal. There you can also find out whether your application is complete or whether you still have to submit any documents. If the check sheet does not ask you to do so, please do not send any documents or copies of certificates.
You can track all your applications coordinated via the DoSV in the application portal at hochschulstart.de. Here, you can see your admission offers and prioritise your preferences. Preferences are always combinations of degree program and university location.

If you have (actively or automatically) accepted the admission offer for a degree program at RUB at hochschulstart.de, you will find your letter of admission in the admissions information portal. The letter of admission contains your personal deadline for enrolment and information on the required documents.
Rejection letter from hochschulstart.de
Be sure to also check the admissions information portal if you have received a rejection letter from hochschulstart.de: You might be admitted for a course that still has places available. In this case, you must accept the admission within a certain deadline.
Please enrol online via the admissions information portal. Your letter of admission will include your deadline for enrolment (matriculation deadline), which you must necessarily stick to. If you miss the deadline for enrolment, you will no longer be entitled to a place at the university.
