German Citizens with International Certificates
As a German citizen with certificates from abroad (both school and university certificates), you do not have to prove any German language skills, but must have your certificates recognized by the Düsseldorf district government. This government will also calculate your average grade. The regulation is only valid, if you are applying for a bachelor´s or state examination degree program.

With this letter of recognition, you will enter the regular application procedure.
If no nationally valid letter of recognition is submitted, the Bachelor’s Admission Office at Ruhr University Bochum will determine your university entrance qualification.
