There is a variety of scholarships available to international students with or without a refugee background in Germany. Choosing the right scholarship is a very individual process that the student financial advisory team is happy to support you with.
Every scholarship is awarded according to specific selection criteria which the institution granting the scholarship has stipulated. But it is not only top grades that count: your personality, family situation, hobbies and your own (educational) biography will also be taken into account. Last but not least, volunteering experience can be a deciding factor when applying for a scholarship.

Students may use the DAAD scholarship database and website to find out more. We recommend that students begin their research into scholarships as early as possible (ideally about a year in advance).
