Deutschlandstipendium: Application information

Applicants must have good grades at school or university. Furthermore, applicants must show commitment to social or community projects in addition to pursuing their school or university studies.

Applications must provide the following information:

• Completion of all mandatory information on the online application form
• Personal and academic details on the online application form
• Grade point average in the last semester; Abitur (A-levels) grade and, if applicable, final grade of the first academic degree
• All applicants (except A-Level students) must upload their current certificate of enrolment. Alternatively, students that are transferring to RUB from another German university or are consecutively changing from their Bachelor’s to their Master’s degree can upload their certificate of exmatriculation. When transferring to RUB from a non-German/foreign university, no certificate of exmatriculation is needed.
• Transcript of Records (except medicine, biology and biotechnology students)
• Information on current social activities (max. 500 words). This includes volunteering/social projects, special qualifications, awards, prizes, study abroad, etc., as well as participation in clubs, associations or religious societies, and other expertise and further activities as per § 2 section 2 of the Stipendienprogramm-Verordnung (Scholarship Program Ordinance)
• Cover letter, including information on exceptional personal or family circumstances (e.g. first person in the family to pursue an academic degree, refugee) (max. 500 words)

Other important information regarding your application:

• Please make sure that you are re-registered (zurückgemeldet) by 1^st October. Students who are not re-registered by this date will automatically be excluded from the application process.
• Contact between scholarship holders and sponsor is an important element of the Deutschlandstipendium. Therefore, please do not schedule your semesters/study abroad during the funding period. If this is not possible, please contact us.
• Please check the selection criteria of your Faculty in advance.
• Please only upload your Certificate of Enrolment and Transcript of Records in the respective fields. Medical students, as well as biology & biotechnology students, please upload a blank document as a PDF file instead of your Transcript of Records in order to be able to submit the application. Applications that contain additional attachments (e.g. internship certificates, letters of recommendation, etc.) will be excluded from the selection process!

• If you already receive a scholarship, please make sure that double sponsorship is permitted! You can find the relevant information here. If you are still not sure, feel free to contact us by email.
• School leavers or first semester students (1^st university semester) please upload only the school-leaving certificate (Abiturzeugnis/A-levels certificate) as a PDF file.
• Please do not send us any other attachments by email (letters of recommendation, etc.), as this may lead to exclusion from the application process.
