Admission Office – Contact Information

The Admission Office is the first place to contact if you are interested in applying for a study program at our university. If you have any questions regarding application and admission, please feel free to contact us.

When am I wrong at the Admission Office?

If you have questions about the course content and subject-related requirements of a degree program, please contact the respective Academic Advisor. You will find the contact details in the respective program of study.

You are currently not enrolled at Ruhr University Bochum and you have questions about a first or new enrolment? Then please contact the Enrolment Office.

Are you already studying at Ruhr University Bochum and do you have questions about changing your subject/program? Then please contact the Registrar's Office.

Personal consultation hour

No registration is required for open consultation hours. In the Student Service Centre (SSC), please first draw a waiting mark at the reception desk on level 0.

When it is your turn, your number will appear on the monitor in the waiting area.

  • Friday 9am - 11a.m.

This is what you should include in your email to the Admission Office

To ensure a fast and efficient response to your request, please remember to include the following information in your email:

  • Please state which degree programs or courses you have applied/would like to apply for.
  • If you have already applied for a degree program: State your 6-digit or 7-digit application number.
  • If you have already applied for a German course: State your 5-digit application number.

By public transport

At the U35 stop (“Ruhr-Universität”): turn right and walk over the pedestrian bridge in the direction of the university. The Student Service Centre (SSC) is the first building on the left after the bridge, just behind the University Administration (UV).

By car: visitors’ car park

Take the exit “Uni Mitte” from Universitätsstraße. Keep left as you approach the car park and turn left after the Information Point. From the car park, take the stairs up to the footbridge over Universitätsstraße. The Student Service Centre (SSC) is the first building on the left after the bridge, just behind the University Administration (UV).
