Enrollment in degree programs with restricted admission

In order to study at RUB, you must enrol in due time and form. You do this by submitting your data and documents online. We explain exactly how this works on this page.

Deadlines

To enroll in degree programs with restricted admission , you must apply online to the Admissions Office for the desired degree program by the deadline, receive a letter of admission for your desired subject and have accepted the study place via the application portal.

There are various things to consider:

  • If you receive admission, you will also receive details of your individual enrollment deadline with the offer of study place. Please note: If you do not enrol and upload your documents by the deadline stated in the letter of admission, your offer of a place will expire.
  • If you have received a letter of admission for a subject with restricted admission and would like to combine this with a subject without restricted admission, please adhere to the deadline for the subject with restricted admission and we will then also enroll you for the subject without restricted admission. As a rule, you apply for a fixed combination from the outset for a two-subject degree program. If one subject of this combination has restricted admission, you register for both subjects as soon as you have received notification of admission for the subject with restricted admission.
  • If you have two letters of admission and therefore two deadlines for enrolment, the earlier deadline applies and we will enroll you for both subjects.
  • If you want to study a two-subject degree program and have only received admission for one of two restricted subjects, you can change the second subject to an admission-free subject before enrolling in the RUB application portal by doing a so-called "recombination". If you later receive admission for the second subject with restricted admission, you can apply for a change of subject and thus change your subject.

Enrollment procedure

Please read the following information carefully so that you submit your application correctly.

As there are currently two different application and enrollment systems at RUB, we have provided you with the necessary information and procedures here:

Admission-restricted Bachelor and state examinations

  • Enrollment in an admission-restricted 1st semester of a Bachelor's or state examination degree program: Enrollment takes place via your application account in the RUB application portal
  • Enrollment in an admission-restricted higher semester of a Bachelor's or state examination degree programme: Enrollment takes place via the personalized link for enrollment in the Admissions information portal

Master's with restricted admission

  • Enrollment in an admission-restricted 1st semester of a Master's degree program: Enrollment takes place via your application account in the RUB application portal
  • Enrollment in a higher semester of a Master's degree programme with restricted admission: Enrollment takes place via the personalized link for enrollment in the Admissions information portal

Allgemeine Hinweise

  • You can enroll online via the RUB application portal. Please note the deadline stated in the letter of admission, by which time you must have entered all the required data and uploaded all the necessary documents.
  • As soon as you have an application account, you can log in at any time and submit or correct documents if necessary. Subsequent submission of documents is only possible until the deadline.
  • Be careful when entering your details and when reading the input fields, as we cannot guarantee you enrollment if you enter incorrect or inaccurate information.
  • To enroll, you must provide proof of your insurance status in a digital registration procedure. You can find all the information you need on the Health insurance during your studies page
  • Once you have uploaded all your documents and submitted/approved the application, we can check it.
  • It may take some time to process your application. Keep a close eye on the processing status in the respective portal: if any documents are missing, you will be informed via the respective portal and by e-mail. You can log into the system at any time using your access data.
  • After we have enrolled you, you will receive an e-mail with the most important information about the social contribution, the use of RUB online services and the next steps.
  • You can only pay the social contribution after enrollment, but you are not officially enrolled until the full amount has been credited to your RUB account.
